Business Development Manager, Education
Annette Norris has been involved in education and training for 20+ years, with a background ranging from K-12 to Community Colleges. Prior to becoming the Business Education Development Manager - Education STEM Consultant, Annette served as the Director for the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association’s Academy for Manufacturing Careers.
Her experience includes providing hands-on after-school and summer workshops for middle school students, serving as the Business Manager for a K-12 Charter School, and developing and implementing academic and social programs for youth in grades K-12. She was also responsible for developing customized training curriculum and providing linkages with business, industry and community organizations.
Annette has developed, organized, managed, and implemented apprenticeship training programs in cooperation with the United States Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship and Training and manufacturers across south-central Michigan. She was responsible for the development and management of JAMA’s K-12 educational pipeline programming, which provides after-school and summer manufacturing career exploration and skilled trades training opportunities to area youth.

In February 2013, Annette received the STEP Award from NAM & The Manufacturing Institute. The STEP Ahead initiative was launched to examine and promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry through Recognition, Research, and Education/Leadership. STEP Award honorees were chosen to be honored because they made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole.
