Robert leads the 3D Printing Studio at DASI Solutions. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University graduating in 1980. He is the oldest of the eleven siblings in the Darbyshire family (brother of David and Ricky). After working 32 years at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) Robert took an early retirement and joined the DASI team in 2016. At GDLS Robert held various roles in Engineering Mangement which included supervision, proposal preparation, design, analysis, prototype vehicle build, testing, process development, training and plant/vehicle implementation. Robert was a Section Manager in Design Services responsible for the activities of 20 Union CAD Designers for 11 years. He was also an Engineering Section Manager in Systems Integration leading 15 Engineers on the Dimensional Analysis and Prototype Vehicle Build Teams. He has two years of experience in a manufacturing facility with component machining and vehicle assembly.

Interests: Robert is married to Rena who is an Engineer at FCA (Chrysler).They have two young childern, Corin and Carter, that are in elementary school, play hockey and are in gymnastics. The family enjoys going to Red Wing games and taking vacations in their motorhome. Robert enjoys hunting,fishing, volleyball and riding his Harley but gets the most enjoyment of spending time with his children. The family has a young Vizsla puppy that Robert has been training to hunt.
